The name of this stone is derived from a popular legend in Madagascar. It is said that when dragons died, their remains became ossified and settled to the bottom of the sea, from which the Dragon Stones were formed. These stones are characterized by an extraordinary blend of yellow, golden brown, black, and a hint of grey. The stone is primarily composed of calcite, aragonite, and grey limestone, formed from marine sediments by volcanic eruptions. However, its uniqueness means there can be a variety of other elements present, such as hematite, flint, jasper, dolomite, and pyrite.
